Last updated: Oct 20, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Mission Research Institute, LLC (“Mission Research Institute,” “MissionRI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit www.missionri.com (the “Site”), fill out a study interest or contact form, subscribe to updates, or otherwise communicate with us online.
This Policy covers information collected through the Site. Once you enroll in a clinical study or receive care from us, your health information is also protected by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, the informed consent form for your study, and applicable federal and state law. If this Policy conflicts with that Notice for protected health information, the Notice controls.
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit information through it.

3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Contact you about clinical studies you may qualify for, usually within 48–72 business hours of a form submission.
- Pre-screen your eligibility and schedule screening visits.
- Answer your questions and respond to referrals, job applications, and other requests.
- Send study updates and newsletters you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site, and understand how visitors use it.

- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal, regulatory, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements, and protect our rights and the safety of participants.
Text messages and calls. If you give us your phone number and agree to be contacted, we may call or text you about studies, appointments, and reminders. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to stop texts or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of joining a study. We do not share or sell your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health information for advertising without your written permission.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site uses cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to keep the Site working, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use it.
| Type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Essential | Makes the Site and its forms work, keeps it secure, and speeds up page loading. |
| Analytics | Tells us which pages are visited and how people find the Site, for example through [Google Analytics]. |
| Advertising | Helps measure and deliver our study outreach on platforms such as [Google, Facebook/Meta, Instagram]. |
We configure analytics and advertising tools so that they do not receive the health information you enter in our forms. Pages and forms that ask about your health are not used to target ads to you.
Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not work properly. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and adjust ad preferences in your Google and Meta account settings. Our Site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals. Where required by law, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of targeted advertising.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only as described below, and only as much as needed for the purpose.
- Service providers. Companies that host the Site, run our forms, email, text-messaging, scheduling, and analytics tools, and provide IT and security support. They may use your information only to provide services to us and must protect it.
- Study sponsors and CROs. If you pre-screen for or enroll in a study, we may share limited information (such as eligibility data or de-identified recruitment statistics) with the study’s sponsor or contract research organization. Sharing of identifiable health information after enrollment is governed by your informed consent and HIPAA authorization.
- Health care providers. With your permission, we may coordinate with your doctor or the provider who referred you.
- IRBs and regulators. Institutional Review Boards, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other authorities that oversee clinical research, when required.
- Legal and safety reasons. To comply with law, a subpoena, or a court order; to protect the rights, property, or safety of participants, the public, or Mission Research Institute; or to investigate fraud or security issues.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent. In any other case where you ask us to or agree to it.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
6. Data Retention and Security
Retention. We keep information from Site forms for as long as needed to evaluate you for current and future studies, respond to you, and meet our legal obligations. If you do not enroll in a study, we keep your pre-screening information for up to [24 months] unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Records from studies you enroll in are kept for the periods required by FDA regulations, sponsor contracts, and state law, which may be several years after a study ends.
Security. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, and staff training on privacy and HIPAA. No website or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send detailed medical records through general email. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

- Access, correct, or delete. Ask to see, correct, or delete the information you submitted through the Site. We may keep some information where the law or research regulations require it.
- Withdraw from a study. Joining a study is always voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time as described in your informed consent form.
State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what personal information we hold, to request deletion, to correct it, to opt out of targeted advertising, and to withdraw consent for the use of consumer health data. Residents of states with consumer health data laws, such as Washington and Nevada, may have specific rights over health information collected outside of HIPAA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Rights over health records created during a study or your care are described in our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. A parent or legal guardian who is interested in a study for a minor should contact us directly by phone. If you believe a child has submitted information through the Site, contact us and we will delete it.
